The star trails obviously take a long time to expose. Notice how the texture of the water changes as you shorten the exposure. Do you prefer the long exposure or a short one? Are you surprised by the slowness of the shutter speed of the portrait photograph. Was this a fluke or was it planned? How did it end up so sharp? The action of the motor sports is being panned from as slow as 1/15 second up to 1/350 of a second. Wildlife, like birds in flight often require very fast shutter speeds. Cyclists are deceptively fast and require a fast speed. The very fast speeds freeze action and capture splotches of mud as they come off the tyres of the dirt car. So what shutter speed will you use today?
